picture of Square TavernLocated in the middle of a housing estate just off the Euston Road, this isn't a typical grotty estate pub. For starters, the clientele is largely suited and booted. It also sports a well-tended bar, manned by attentive and courteous staff, with the Young's beer up to a decent standard. A rather leafy outdoor drinking space is available for the warmer days, though what with the encircling flats, the feeling of being a goldfish in a bowl is never far away. Still, rare it is to share a beer garden with local kids practising their BMX moves; rarer still to find an ice cream van turn up as well. By the time the Morris Dancers arrived on the scene we thought the Young's ales were taking on hallucinogenic qualities. If you catch it on the right night perhaps these enticements may be on offer again. Wouldn't bank on it though.
