picture of Marquis of WestminsterWhether you loved or hated the old Marquis of Westminster, with its Artex walls and gruff locals, its gone: gone the way befitting such an address, we suppose, by becoming rather more upmarket. Its actually pretty good if truth be told - friendly staff (including a bit of table service) a reasonable bar menu and a couple of ales. There're a few original features still dotted about (although we couldn't tell if they're original to this location) and a choice of music (Stones, The Who, Joplin, Led Zep) which made us stay a little longer than we had planned for. As one would expect, its filled with office workers after 5pm, but its just far enough away from Victoria to not become a nightmare. A solid three pinter.

Eating at the Marquis of Westminster ... we last ate here on 27/03/2007

Fish finger sandwich and fries was a reasonable at under a fiver. The fries were excellent but the fish fingers were rather reminiscent of the ones found in budget supermarkets.
