Stripped out, airy and loungey, the East Hill perfectly suits its quietly prosperous surroundings. Busy when we last stopped by, it still projected a relaxed and unhurried feel (not unlike its customers), with a few punters finding the time to puzzle over a few broadsheet sudokus. There's a strong selection of beers (Sharp's Doom Bar, Adnams and T.E.A when we last looked in), though the food on offer is as much an attraction as anything else. You could be harsh - we were when we first reviewed this one - and mark it down as not much more than an All Bar One clone. However, there's a touch more character and spirit to this one, hence it nudging a 3 pint rating.
