how to find it:

From Aldgate East, exit onto Commercial Street, walk up to Spitalfields Market. The pub is on the right. From Liverpool Street exit onto Bishopsgate, cross and take Brushfield Street on the right. At the end turn left and the pub will be on your right.

picture of The Golden Heart The Golden Heart is in the right location to draw in punters walking between Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market. There's a decent range of beer available, a more than adequate jukebox, and when its not too busy, an altogether agreeable atmosphere. The smaller wine bar section on the left hand side, which is done up as an old-school all-wood-fittings, subdued lighting Truman Brewery pub and a pub dog that likes than curling up next to the log fire (in winter) is especially nice. If you're not a fan of Hoxtonites, however, you might want to avoid Friday and Saturday nights, when even getting inside the pub to order a drink can be a laborious affair.
