picture of The Sun InnWith the Sun Inn's 'Emerald Lustre' horror of an exterior now replaced with a more understated white, it would seem things are looking up for this once average pub. It's still definitely veering towards trendy - indeed, perhaps a tad pretentious in its execution. It maybe inevitable in an area such as Barnes, but a concept such as "Fish, Chips and Champagne" is clearly aimed at a certain clientele and is a little too obvious in its grasping attempt as postmodernism for our liking. Nevertheless, with superbly made food, four real ales and two Belgian beers on tap this is essentially a good place to spend an evening. They even have board games to keep you occupied (if you feel the need) and the atmosphere was unrushed. We've heard numerous bad tales about the attitude of the staff here, but didn't experience it on our visit, when the service was if not friendly, at least efficient and polite. One of the better pubs in the area. (new, less green, picture to come)
