April's top ten pubs
"Top Ten Thursday" is the first Thursday of every month, when we all get together to vote for our top ten pubs. These are pubs we have recently visited and for one reason or another, maybe it was the ambience, the booze, or the company, these pubs have stuck in our memory.
We enjoyed them so much we thought you'd like to know about them, so here they are - there's no particular order of merit, they're all good pubs.
- Pembury Tavern
(Hackney, London)... A real ale fan's pub that's got plenty to offer for us non-Camra types too. - Island Queen
(City Road, London)... A once grand Victorian pub that's still well worth visiting - Palace Bar
(Dublin, )... Historic Dublin pub, in the centre of the city that's definitely worth seeking out. - The Royal Oak
(Borough, London)... A classic pub that's a five pinter in every department. - Earl Ferrers
(Streatham, London)... Excellent gastro-local in the hinterland off Streatham High Road - The Bottle House Inn
(Penshurst, Kent)... An excellent old pub, that's been brought bang up-to-date. - The Grapes
(Limehouse, London)... Simply one of the best pubs in London. - The Red Lion
(Bromley, London)... Little gem in the north Bromley back-streets. - Pride of Spitalfields
(Spitalfields, London)... Lovely old boozer just off trendy old Brick Lane - Britannia
(Borough, London)... A great little pub with an amazing choice of single malts - just what the doctor ordered.
