Now renamed the Chesterfield as the latest addition to the First Restaurant Group stable - great improvement over previous moribund incarnation even though it's very early days. Properly demarcated drinking and eating areas give it back the 'local' ambience if just popping in for a pint (still Landlord - although plans to feature guest, bottled ales in the pipeline according to the friendly and informed bar manager). No point competing with the renowned Assaggi restaurant upstairs in the culinary stakes so will be interesting to see how they develop their menu or if they just stick to standard gastro pub fare. Good, reasonably priced wine list. A welcome return to form!
