The Anglers in teddington has a perfect location on the river, close to teddington lock. They have a good selection of both beers and wines. A huge beer garden, accomodating at least 300 people, with a good play area for children. It has recently been tastfully refurbished. However, they are missing a trick with both their food and their service. The staff don't seem to be able to cope with the large numbers of people they seem to attract to the fine location. Upon arrival, all seems pleasant, untill it comes to ordering food. The menu is pretty standard, offering fish finger sanwiches, and roast dinners. But when I arrived with two other people, on Sunday 21st of march 2010,we were told that there was a 20 minute wait before we could even order our food. On talking to other customers, we found that they had been waiting for nearly an hour previously. It was a nice sunny day, perfect for eating outside in their beer garden. Unfortunately, for us the wait was too long, so we decided to leave after 1 drink. The general apathy concerning the delay, was not acceptable for a pub wishing to cater for families and people wishing to enjoy such a lovely day in a fine location. What I feel this pub needs, is good management, not only behind the bar, but in the dining area. It's not enough to sit pretty by the river and flatter to deceive. What a shame to look so good but deliver so poorly.

Do not visit this place for Sunday lunch! It may look like a nice river-side pub, but it is a total disaster area, food-wise. We left, unfed, 1 3/4 hours after ordering. People were taking food back all around us. The day was pretty much ruined. Zero pints!

Really cool place. Nice view, drinks weren't too expensive for a "yuppie pub" of this sort. And best of all, they do FISH FINGER SANDWICHES for about £3. I'd recommend it on that basis alone, but it ticks all the other boxes as well - friendly staff, good beer, comfortable seating, nice and airy inside. Not a banging atmosphere - the right place for a catch-up chat rather than a night on the tiles.
