These reviews seem to be a bit out of date. Positively 4th St serves Thai and Chinese food, very authentic tasting and reasonably priced. It's open every day but Sunday and there is a private room under the bar, which is hired out for private parties, dancing, live music or comedy. I live in the area and I don't think it's at all pretentious, in-fact it's just a nice bar with cool decorations and comfy seats, it looks a bit like a speak-easy. It is a cocktail bar, however, so not as focussed on beer as some. The draft lager was Red Stripe the last time I was in there. They make a seriously good drink called a Bramble, which got my friend quite jolly.

It's very sad to see that what was a proper friendly local converted into such a pretentiously trendy watering-hole for the well-heeled.
