Fancyapint.com comments policy

- rules for posting comments

Please read carefully the rules below, by submitting a comment you agree to be bound by these rules. For the purposes of these rules, “you” means the person who submitted the comment and “We” means fancyapint.com and the people working on behalf of the site.

  1. You must register and supply a valid email address in order to comment.
  2. By registering a valid email address, you agree to abide by our rules on commenting on Fancyapint.com.
  3. The purpose of the comments section is to provide other Fancyapint users with information that will help them decide where to go for a drink. Your views may or may not support our views, but they should be offered with this in mind.
  4. Comments that are published are published in their entirety as submitted by you. We do not edit comments.
  5. By submitting a comment you warrant that you are the author of the comment.
  6. We may contact you if we have (or receive) any queries about your comment.
  7. When you submit a comment, you will be put on our mailing list so that we can contact you if we amend our comments policy. We will contact you using the username you chose when registering to submit comments.
  8. By submitting a comment you give us the right to publish the comment on Fancyapint.com and elsewhere, should we so desire. However, you retain copyright on the comment.
  9. Once submitted, comments will not be removed unless there are issues about the content of the comment.
  10. If you have had a bad experience in the pub and need to get it off your chest, please be aware of the above rule. If you do have a grievance, why not contact the pub and/or pub owners directly? (Preferably, when things have calmed down a little.) We have found that many pubs welcome feedback and will do the best they can to rectify an untoward experience. If you believe a criminal activity is taking place or a crime has been committed – drug-dealing, racism, homophobia, theft, underage drinking etc – please report it to the relevant authorities. We will not (and cannot) publish unsubstantiated allegations.
  11. If you own the pub in question, or are working in the interests of the pub – eg a PR agency – it would be nice if you make that clear in your comments, although it’s usually pretty obvious to us.
  12. We have final say – we will not publish anything we feel is abusive, defamatory, inaccurate or potentially illegal.
